Born in Istambul, Turkey. studied ballet at Istambul Conservatory; Became a professional belly dancer at the teen age of fourteen. Tambils unique style of "Gobek dansi" (Stomach Dance, loosely translated) has been performed as an art in the palaces of Turkish Sultans for centuries -the authentic movements and rhythms with wich those dancers of old captivated all who were lucky enough to gain audience at Sultans court.
Tambil has danced for such luminaries as famous Aga Khan IVand the Sultan of Zanzibar. She danced her way across the european Continent; And on to America, where she has performed with many show business greats, including Frank Sinatra, Jr. - Benny Goodman - Harry James- Lou Monte and Paul Anka . She has made a number of great appearances on the Merv Griffin Show .
